Glass Racks and Shelves
You need places to store and display your alcohol, so you have to consider form and function. You want something that looks great to help set your bar apart, but also it needs to provide the storage space and practical functions for your bartenders to work efficiently.
Every bar needs at least one good sink for washing glasses and dumping old drinks. You will need a separate hand sink, too, so your staff can keep their hands clean.
No bar is complete without a good ice bin. You need to keep your ice cold, clean and easy for the staff to access with a simple scoop.
Shakers, stirrers, measuring cups, corkscrews, bottle openers, paring knives and cutting boards for garnishes, pour tops, garnish bins and other items will be needed to prepare drinks.
If you are serving any blended drinks like margaritas or daiquiris, you will need a good commercial blender or maybe several depending on your quantities.
Glasses and Mugs
You will require drink glasses of all types, including shot glasses, regular drink glasses, wine glasses, champagne flutes, martini glasses and beer mugs.
You will want to have a good soda gun system for non-alcoholic beverages and club soda dispensing. Make sure it has the features and capacity you need to keep up with your bar’s service demands.
Tap System & Keg Refrigerators
If you are serving draught beer, then seek out a quality tap system and keg refrigerators to keep the beer cold, fresh and flowing!
If serving wine, you will need wine racks and probably a wine cooler.
You should have a good refrigerator and/or freezer unit. How big you need may depend on the size of your bar and your cold storage needs. Most bars will have a smaller under-counter fridge for easy access to certain drink and food items.
Naturally, your bar will need good furniture. We’re talking the bar itself, barstools, tables, chairs, etc.
Don’t forget about the entertainment aspects of your bar. It’s nice to have a good sound system, televisions, games (pool tables, shuffleboard, dart boards), jukebox and other things to keep your customers entertained while they enjoy some adult beverages.
Last but not least, you cannot forget the cleaning supplies. You are going to need mops, buckets, rags, bathroom supplies, soaps, hand sanitizers, dishwashing racks and other items to keep your bar clean and sanitary.
