You Purchased Your Equipment in a KMC Online Auction. Now What?

Even we were a little skeptical about the online virtual auction process as first, but it really has been a great experience for us so far. It has allowed Kohn-Megibow to continue buying and selling quality used restaurant equipment during these times when live auctions just aren’t as safe or practical to conduct. Our buyers have loved the convenience of being able to bid on and purchase the used restaurant equipment they need from the comfort of their homes and offices.

KMC Virtual Online Auctions

We’ve talked a lot about the virtual auction process a lot on the KMC Blog in the past few months, but we haven’t yet addressed how things work once you actually win an auction. That’s why we’re posting this article now to help our customers who may have already purchased equipment or may be considering bidding on something in the near future.

Purchase Confirmation

Once you’ve registered on Proxibid, submitted your bids and won an item, you will get a purchase confirmation and be directed to the online payment portal. You will have the option to have your equipment shipped to wherever you are (with the necessary shipping costs added on, of course). Or, you can still arrange to come by our Anaheim warehouse to pick up your equipment in person. 

Pick-Up Instructions

If you are arranging for a pick-up, please remember a few things. First, we are operating with a little less staff than usual. It helps to schedule a pick-up time, so we can be ready for you. Just give us a call or shoot us an email letting us know when you’d like to stop by. 

We are also following sanitization and social distancing precautions as advised by the CDC, California law and Orange County regulations. We ask that you wear face coverings and respect any precautions you are asked to follow while you are at our facility. We do have a forklift available to help load equipment onto your truck, but our staff availability is very limited. Please bring your own people to take care of safe loading and securing the equipment on your transport vehicle.

Shipping/Delivery Option

If you prefer to have the item(s) shipped, you will provide your shipping address and additional payment through Proxibid and we will take care of the rest. We will get everything packaged up safely and securely, so that it can be delivered to your desired destination.
