Since 1916, Kohn-Megibow Company has been at the forefront of the restaurant equipment industry. Founded by S.W. Kohn, we pioneered restaurant equipment auctions in Southern California, setting the standard for quality and reliability.

In 1924, we moved into our own purpose-built facility at 5025 S. Figueroa, a building that still stands today. Named after his daughters Sylvia and Rose, this building became the cornerstone of our operations. In 1947, Sol Megibow joined his father-in-law, and Kohn-Megibow Company was born.

For decades, we specialized in auctioning restaurants, bakeries, and markets across Southern California. Even after Mr. Kohn’s passing in 1956, we continued to grow under the leadership of Sol Megibow, later joined by his son-in-law Stephen Grove in 1973.

In the 1960s, Mr. Megibow pioneered the practice of buying failed restaurant equipment and moving it to our warehouse, where it was auctioned regularly. This innovation set us apart and allowed us to offer unbeatable deals to our customers.

In 1980, Stephen Grove led us to purchase a 20,000 square foot warehouse in Los Angeles, marking a new era of expansion. By 1990, our growth necessitated a move to a larger 40,000 square foot facility in Anaheim, California. With Stephen Grove, Mark Alderson, and Sherrie Gailey at the helm, we continued to thrive.

Today, Kohn-Megibow Company moves an average of more than one entire restaurant, bakery, or market every day. Leveraging economies of scale, we offer high-quality used equipment at prices unmatched by anyone else in California. Additionally, we’ve introduced new equipment to our auctions since 2010, further expanding our offerings.

In 2020, we transitioned our auctions online, enhancing accessibility and convenience for our customers. Located at 1341 N. Kraemer Blvd., Anaheim, California, our facility boasts a large, clean space staffed by experienced professionals.
